A HAPLESS husband trying to convince his wife that he was hot at doing housework ended up accidentally ironing his face.

Tomas Paczkowski, 32, was doing the ironing while watching a boxing match on the telly.

But he got so involved in the bout that he pressed the hot appliance to his face when he heard the phone ring. Tomas then added insult to injury when he ran to the bathroom to put cold water on the burn only to run into the door.

Japanese Culture - Jubako

"JUBAKO" means Japanese wooden multi-tiered food box covered with lacquer, kind of lacquerware. Japanese lacquerware is sometimes inlaid or carved. Lacquerware includes boxes, dish, chop-stick, spoon, tableware, etc. painted with lacquer in cultures mostly in the East Asian countries.

Today, Japanese lacquerware is produced throughout the Japanese archipelago, with many regional techniques and variations. Besides the very old Kamakura tradition, (and still alive today), the port town of Wajima provides a good example of regional lacquerware. Wajima-nuri, dating back to the 16th century, is characterized by use of the elm-like Japanese zelkova, powdered earth, and delicate features formed from cloth.

しかし、パソコンまわりの照明は明るすぎて、ノングレアではないモニターだと映り込みがあるかもしれません。間接照明としたほうがいいでしょう。LED照明を隠して設置すると映り込みも少ないかも。天井照明だけで十分で、不足するなら壁に固定した点光源のLEDライトを設置したほうがいいかもしれない。

パソコンデスクの奥行きは足りない。これは大画面を想定しない設計です。また、マルチモニターとすると手狭となります。少なくとも、幅・高さ共3.5フィート以上を確保しないと二画面設置が難しい。Ｌ字型レイアウトは好ましいですが、書棚がＬ字型デスクの連続性を切っているのがもったいない。プリンターは使いやすい場所に設置してあります。しかし、これまた奥行きが足りない。

窓のない書斎空間。落ち着きます。しかし、この写真の書斎は間口が狭いです。３フィートほど部屋幅を拡げたい。

窓がありませんので、換気・空調設備は万全にしたいですが、静音性も考えないといけません。天井付２方向カセットを設置して、外気混合で室内を空調してやります。

本棚は最小限にして、お気に入りだけを置くこととしましょう。IT機器の配線の取り回し、隠し方を工夫して、余分な置物は全て排除。

Ｌ字型レイアウトを活かすために椅子は回転椅子を使用。モニターは24"以上は必要なので、最大32"に対応するようにデスク上部と本棚の下の空間は20cm以上アップ、それに従いデスクの奥行きも20cm以上拡げるとすると、やはり間口は３フィートほど拡げなければいけません。
